Every production is different, and every production needs a different type of snow effect - given your constraints on location, budget, accessibility or scope, find the perfect snow product for you, here!
foam concentrate
$250 / 5GAL
GOOD FOR: LARGE EXTERIORS, DIFFICULT TO REACH PLACES, WIDE SHOTS
Repurposed from its original role as a forest fire-fighting foam, our foam machines can produce a luscious, thick, even foam that can cover entire fields. Given the right conditions, too, the foam can last for up to 10 hours - until it vanishes, leaving little to no cleanup afterward. Our foam is EPA and Forest Service approved, and is safe to use around plants and humans.
For detailed, close work, use a ProPak to lay it down. For huge exteriors and trees, our Yeti can’t be beat.
cellulose snow base
$163.8 / bag
GOOD FOR: MEDIUM EXTERIORS, HIGH REALISM, WALKING THROUGH
As simple as it gets - ground and bleached cellulose fibers. One of Hollywood’s oldest snow effects, cellulose is just about as old as movies are.
Produces a thick mat of fluffy, realistic snow that looks great on sidewalks, on lawns, and on buildings. Walking through it even leaves footprints, just like actual snow. For all its virtues, however, it’s worth bearing in mind: the application, shooting, and cleanup processes produce a huge amount of dust - cellulose is not recommended, therefore, for interior locations, sensitive biomes, or hard-to-reach places.
Cellulose can be applied by hand, or blown onto your set with our Krendle Fiber Mover.
starch
$150 / bag
GOOD FOR: FALLING SNOW
A starch based, light material that, when blown in the air, looks exactly like falling snow. And, it’s completely biodegradeable!
Not recommended for use around water - dissolves and forms a thick, difficult to clean paste upon contact with moisture.
We recommend blowing starch snow into the air with a Mole-Richardson E-Fan.
